winning your first day out
Communicate
You can't win alone. You need your teammates, you want teamwork. Talk to the other players. Communicate. Ask them if they've already played and if they know each other. Ask them for tips about strong and weak points of position. Be sure your team decides on a plan of movement at the whistle. Once you know what's expected, try to fit in and follow the plan.
If your team has no plan nor organization, try to assign each member of the group to a portion of the field. "Would you like to go on the right side or the left? All three of you? Great. Sarah and Jason, do you want to go behing trees and watch the center? Awesome. You'll be protecting the three gunners on the left side." Remember to communicate throughout the game.
That's it. You gave orders in a respectful manner, set up an imperfect structure - but one that is way better than the disorganized group you'd have been without a plan. Well done. You've just greatly improved your chances of winning!
Moving like a pro
New players make two common mistakes when moving on the field; First , going to a shelter and staying there for the rest of the game is a bad idea. Second, waisting paintballs on targets too far away to actually hit. Pick your spots. You'll conserve ammo and increase your hit percentage.
Learning to move on a field takes time. You have to plan your route and go from shelter to shelter. First get to a shelter you've chosen before the game begins. Keep your eyes open, try to see where the closest hostiles are. If you don't see anybody, look for another shelter further along, rush in behind it, and repeat. Be patient, but once you've made a decision move fast and low. Look, move, look again, move again....If you try do both at the same time you'll end up taking a head shot (not pretty).
Take turns covering each other. Those in the front should signal those in the rear and tell them where they can move to.
Avoid moving into someone else's shelter. You make a bigger target while still covering the same shooting angles.
