  • Two Knee Approach

Ahhh...the much maligned two knee approach. As previously mentioned, the two knee approach offers some advantages over the one knee approach. First, you can slide into a bunker on two knees. Sliding in on two knees makes you a much more difficult target to hit and you can also shoot as you slide - a big bonus. Second, you don't have to reposition after the slide. You're already set up. Third, on two knees you can shoot out both sides of the bunker. This is a big advantage over the one knee approach, which limits you to shooting from one side or the other.

I've read in a few places that only lazy people use the two knee approach. That is pure horse sh*t. SomeĀ people may misuse this stance out of laziness, but I find it very useful when my team is down a man or two and I am relatively far from my opponents. If I'm down a few players, I won't be repositioning much, so I get down into the two knee stance and wait. From the two knee you can shoot out both sides, get close up against the bunker for cover, or lean back over your heals for a view.

Notice in the picture below how small a target you are in the two knee stance compared to a running hostile. You can't move fast, but if you're down a man or two you won't be running around anyway. Get close to the bunker, keep your eyes open, and wait for the enemy to open themselves up on the flank- as in the illustration below.
